CSIC
Leading role in Work Package 3 “MPXV detection test development, and validation” and Work Package 8 “Capacity building”
Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) is a non-profit governmental organization.
CSIC is the largest research organization in Spain and includes 121 research institutes working in all disciplines. Two institutes will participate in the proposal (Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa and Instituto de Agroquímica y Tecnología de Alimentos). State-of-the-art facilities are available, including BSL2 and BSL3 laboratories, genomics and next generation sequencing service, aerosol chambers for studies of virus-containing aerosol and qPCR. Multidisciplinary research carried out at CSIC has developed methodologies that will be transferred to laboratories in RDC and ROC for diagnostics, airborne transmission studies and bioinformatic analysis of MPXV genome sequences.
