Dr. Chastel Mapanguy from FCRM (Republic of Congo) attended the 15th conference of the African Society of Human Genetics in Uganda in February. This was one of the initiatives to allow SSA’s young researchers to have training and to attend conferences both in SSA and Europe to improve their knowledge and to disseminate MPOX-PROBE project’s activities, objectives and ambition. During this conference, Dr. Mapanguy had a very fruitful exchange with experts in the field of virology and genomics analysis. Indeed, this scientific event enabled to expand the collaborative network with colleagues from different countries and senior experts in the field of research for infectious diseases. He also participated to a practical workshop on bioinformatics analysis and the use of artificial intelligence, which allowed him to share his experience with other and benefit from the advantages of using artificial intelligence in bioinformatics. This gained knowledge will be exploited in the MPOX-PROBE project to further improve data analysis and for modelling activities.
